A SCIENCE teacher who has been made an MBE says she is delighted to be recognised for her educational efforts.
Lorna Coulson, 54, works as an advanced skills science teacher at Langley Park School for Girls, Hawksbrook Lane, South Eden Park Road, Beckenham.
Since 1999, Mrs Coulson, of Foxgrove Road, Beckenham, has used her expertise at both Langley Park and other schools in the area.
The mother-of-two works to improve the knowledge of staff and students, as well as working with youngsters from nearby primary schools.
Mrs Coulson, who used to be a microbiologist before she took up teaching 15 years ago, said: "I am very surprised and delighted."
Headteacher Jan Sage added: "I am absolutely thrilled.
"She is a very deserving winner."
