PLANS for the borough's first Tube line have been given a £450m cash injection.
The loan will be used to upgrade tracks and stations in Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Penge West and Anerley, in the first stage of the £900m east London line extension.
Bromley is included in the first phase of the project, which is expected to be completed in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Transport for London secured the £450m loan from the European Investment Bank and the project will link the borough to central and east London.
Bromley Council's executive councillor for the environment George Taylor said: "It is vital to the regeneration of Crystal Palace."
The London Development Agency, Ken Livingstone's agency for business and jobs, is presently considering plans to secure the future of Crystal Palace park.
