PUPPY POWER: Would-be thieves tried to steal a Rottweiller puppy from the back garden of a house in Wallis Park, Northfleet, on December 12, at 2.15pm.They tried to lure the pet away by making a washing line harness but the dog escaped. BOY PUNCHED: A 17-year-old boy was punched in the face after asking a robber to return his mobile phone which was stolen by the offender in Cervia Way, Gravesend. A 19-year-old man was arrested following the December 12 incident, which happened between 4.30pm and 5pm. Anyone with information should call police on 01474 565167.
WHEELS ON FIRE: Two cars were set alight in separate attacks on December 29. Shortly after midnight Gravesend firemen were called to a Honda Civic in Edwin Street and at 3.55am they were sent to tackle a blazing Ford Fiesta in Valley Drive. Police are investigating.
PLANS IN: Dartford Council is expected to grant planning permission to a restaurant at the former post office building in Hawley Road, Wilmington. Azziz Lucky is expected to have his application approved at the January 5 meeting.
BLAZING SUN: Firemen were called to a house in Apsledene, Gravesend, after the sun magnified through a living room window and set light to a sofa on December 28 at 3.15pm.
