DOCTOR IN COURT: Foot doctor Alethea Foster, aged 61, of Warren Avenue, Bromley, pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of 44-year-old Julie Simpson, from Beckenham, at Cambridge Crown Court on December 16. Foster was granted conditional bail to appear in court on February 3 for a review hearing. Under the terms of her bail she must not contact her husband John Foster or former BBC and Sky News journalist Ms Simpson.
HUMAN SHIELD: T-Mobile was forced to abandon work on December 15 at the junction of Mead Way and Pickhurst Road, Hayes, when protestors made a human shield around land earmarked for a mast. The mobile phone company has planning permission to build on the land but residents believe it is privately owned.
BUCKLE UP: Police officers are showing motorists photos of road crash injuries to scare people into wearing seat belts. Safety chiefs estimate 90 per cent of car occupants killed would have survived if they had worn seat belts.
STARS OF CCTV: CCTV cameras are being used to stop drivers parking illegally in the loading bay in Market Square, Bromley. Drivers who are not loading or unloading now risk fines of £100.
