THERE was snow place like home as the first winter showers covered north Kent. An estimated 10cm of the white stuff settled in rural areas last week and coupled with plummeting temperatures made driving conditions difficult.
Highways Agency staff worked hard to make sure the area's three major motorways remained passable while councils dispatched their gritters (see page 5).
And as these pictures show, the snow also provided some wintry fun for youngsters with Camer Park, Meopham, the venue for some sledging and snowballing.
