A TOWN forum treated elderly people to an afternoon of fun, food and entertainment on the theme of 1945, to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

More than 140 people were invited to Christ Church Hall in Glebe Way, Erith, by the Erith Town Forum, for some old time music hall acts such as Max Wall and George Formby, by the entertainment group Stars Come Alive.

Supermarket Morrisons helped out with the afternoon tea and there was a raffle and bingo with prizes donated by the area's businesses.
