BOMB UNCOVERED: Police were called to a work site after builders found an unexploded First World War grenade. The workers were evacuated from the site at Wearside Road, Lewisham on December 1 at 3pm. No one was hurt and the hand grenade was taken away for investigation by the special bomb squad.
