A WITNESS who saw a Millwall fan chased by a gang and knifed, has told the Old Bailey how she could not watch the attack.
Rebecca Simmonds was driving along Beckenham High Street with a friend when they saw a gang armed with a large knife chasing John Quinn.
They phoned 999 and as they turned into The Drive, Beckenham, they saw him fall over and then stabbed.
David Connolly, aged 38, of Churchfields Road, Bromley, and Ricky Blackham, aged 40, of Turpington Close, Beckenham, deny attempted murder and wounding with intent.
It is alleged the pair first attacked Mr Quinn, 31, outside O'Neill's pub in Beckenham High Street, in the early hours of December 11, last year, after he suggested they were Chelsea fans.
They are said to have fought outside the pub but the pair and a third man not on trial are said to have chased Mr Quinn down nearby streets to finish him off.
He was punched, kicked, pinned to the ground and stabbed in the chest, his life was saved by emergency surgery.
Miss Simmonds said: "I looked away because I didn't want to see it."
She also gave police a cardigan which one of the attackers had thrown in a garden which had possible traces of Connolly's DNA.
The trial continues.
