A woman was found dead after a fire at a house in The Rise, Gravesend
A 55-YEAR-OLD woman died as fire ripped through her home.
Kent Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze in The Rise, Gravesend, at 10am on Monday.
Firefighters took more than an hour to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have started in the first-floor bedroom.
The fire was confined to a rear bedroom where the owner of the house was found dead.
The cause of the fire is unknown and police say initial inquiries do not indicate the fire was suspicious.
They are continuing to investigate the incident with Kent Fire and Rescue.
