BUSINESS MINDS: Young entrepreneurs have set up a junior chamber of commerce. More than 30 pupils from nine schools in Greenwich have signed up to the group which has been set up by the Greenwich, Lewisham and Bexley Chamber of Commerce. The chamber discussed business ideas at its first meeting on November 29.
PATH TO SUCCESS: Lewisham has some of the best footpaths in the capital, new figures have revealed. The Audit Commission findings show only 12 per cent of footpaths in the borough are in need of repair, putting it in the top three alongside East London boroughs Hackney and Newham.
LITTER FINE: A woman has become the first person in Greenwich to be fined £50 for dropping rubbish. The Eltham resident paid up after a policeman saw her throwing a plastic bottle out of her car window, in Calderwood Street, Woolwich.
GONE MISSING: Concern was raised last week when a dementia sufferer went missing from court. Leslie Innes, from Catford, disappeared from Bromley County Court last Wednesday. The 78-year-old was later found safe and well.
PUPIL PLACES: Parents who want to get their child into a Greenwich primary school next September or in January 2007 must send in application forms, indicating all preferences, by no later than January 31. Call 020 8921 8940.
