YOUTH WORKSHOP: Trust Thamesmead is hosting a workshop in Limestone community hall in Kale Road, Thamesmead, on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm, to discuss whether disused shops next door to the community hall should be converted into community workshops for young people aged 16 to 30. To give your views visit the workshop or keep track of the project and register your views on reclaimspace.co.uk
PRICKLY PLAN: With help from the Bexley Community Safety Partnership, residents in Wingate Road, Sidcup, are hoping to stop graffiti artists defacing a wall in the street, by getting Bexley Council to plant prickly shrubs and bushes in front of it, after the council cleans and repairs it.
KIDS' COMPUTERS: Touch, Type, Read and Spell software has now been installed on the eight children's computers at the Central library in Bexleyheath, for children who have spelling and reading problems or physical or learning difficulties. The software is also available at Crayford, Thamesmead and Slade Green libraries.
FIREWORK FUND: Poor weather affected the attendance at this year's firework display organised by Welling Round Table. Although numbers were down to around 20,000 people, it still raised nearly £29,000 for charity. Some £12,500 has already been given to good causes.
