PEOPLE peeing in the street in Bexley Village could be handed a bucket of water to clean it up.
Loud complaints from residents and traders about people using the street and other public places in the village as a toilet, has prompted police to act.
Anyone caught urinating in public will be given the choice of either cleaning up their mess or paying an £80 penalty notice.
Village publicans are working with the police.
They have promised to provide the hot water and materials to clean up the urine.
They will also be displaying posters and leaflets in their pubs urging people to "go before you go".
Police patrols to deter people from urinating in the street and other anti-social behaviour begin on Friday.
