FORCE VOICE : Bexley police and community representatives will attend a carol service at Trinity Baptist Church, Bexleyheath Broadway, on December 14 at 7.30pm. The public are also invited to attend, join in the carols, listen to the Christmas story and hear borough commander Chief Superintendent Robin Merrett give an address focusing on the role of volunteers in the police. The service will be led by police chaplain the Rev Terry Griffith.
SOLID WORK: Contractors working on the dualling of Thames Road, Crayford, will be working throughout this weekend to divert essential services such as gas and water. From 6.30pm on Friday to 6pm on Sunday there will be three-way temporary traffic lights in operation close to Kennet Road. This is to allow the concrete filling the trenches dug in the road to harden. Drivers are advised to expect delays.
BAND NIGHT: Belvedere Concert Band holds its annual Christmas concert at St Michael's Church, Upper Wickham Lane, Welling, on December 17 at 7.30pm in aid of Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice. Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door or in advance by calling 020 8304 0901.
CASH STEPS: Kent Korkers and Pork Scratchins Morris dancers raised more than £900 dancing in Bexleyheath Broadway for Children in Need, with Essex guest dancers Bowes and Belles, Hands Around and Crouch Vale.
