YOUNG people in Bexley are being invited to a free event.
The party at Sidcup youth centre Burnt Oak Lane, Sidcup, this Friday from 7pm to 10pm, is aimed at young people aged between 13 and 18.
Centrepiece of the night will be an X Factor-style battle of the bands. There will also be a DJ booth for those who prefer mixed music or rap.
A Big Brother-style booth will enable youngsters to give their views on services for young people in the borough and there will be free refreshments and a goodie bag packed with useful bits and pieces.
Bexley Council cabinet member for education Councillor Trevor Perrin said: "So often young people suffer from negative stereotypes.
"It is time we acknowledged the overwhelming majority are an asset."
