A STAR from Vic Reeves' Big Night Out looks back on 40 years of his creative career in this new exhibition which shows his roots firmly planted in south east London.
Fred Aylward, 50, who played Les in Vic Reeves'show, has produced Time Traveller; a retrospective installation, looking back on four decades of work.
Aylward who was born in Deptford and still lives there, displays his most recent work dinner plates painted with pictures of famous people, the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver.
And one of his earliest pieces is on view a painting of 1920s' fashion, completed when he was 11.
"It's interesting for me to look back at these early pieces and say how they progressed through my life," he says.
The display also traces his own personal history of the ArtHouse Gallery, home to the exhibition, which he first visited as a child when it was Deptford Children's Library.
Time Traveller, The ArtHouse Gallery, Lewisham Way, New Cross, until December 18, 020 8244 3168
