A CHARITY has thrown open its doors to hold a Christmas party for carers, dependents and their families.
The Carers' Support Service, Essex Road, Dartford, helps carers in north Kent.
The service offers counselling, a respite/sitter service, support groups, benefits and social activities to people who are looking after friends and relatives who would otherwise need residential care.
More than 140 people enjoyed a disco, a magician and singers at the event, which was held at the Fleetdown Community Centre, Swaledale Road, Dartford.
Funding for the party came from department store John Lewis at Bluewater and the Kent Police Property Fund.

Administration manager Janet Terry said: "It was really great, one of our best events ever."
