SWANLEY ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
We have been very bust during the month of November, a lunch at a local restaurant at the start of the month was the first of many functions organised for members.
On November 7 a party of members joined a Turkey and Tinsel short break at a hotel in Bournemouth - very enjoyable.
Later in the month another group of members went to the Orchard Theatre in Dartford for a performance of The Rat Pack'. A great evening showing a reproduction of the Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr., brand of entertainment.
At the monthly meeting on the 15th, we had a visit from Paul Harris (of BBC Radio Kent fame), Paul talked about the history of pantomime and with his anecdotes on certain personalities of entertainment, made the talk very amusing and made the afternoon an enjoyable one.
On November 25, a large group of members went to Hackney Empire for an evening of music celebrating Stephen Sondheim's 75th birthday, the concert was given by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Our walking group has temporarily suspended their activities by our keep fit and ten pin bowling programmes continue to give satisfaction to those taking part.
