BECKENHAM PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
Chasing the light' was an intriguing title for a talk by Peter Symes, showing various aspects of his photography.
The first part of the evening was devoted to photographs taken in Richmond Park. What was particularly effective was those of autumn trees back lit by the sun. the branches were in silhouette whilst the sun behind the leaves made them glow with autumn colours, some prints were further enhanced by the sun shining through the November mist.
The final part of the evening was devoted to candid street photography taken on an around Brighton Pier.
Even the most mundane subject could make interesting photographs, such as the backs of peoples heads in a shelter or a family enjoying fish and chips photographed from a high level.
