A CHURCH celebrated its 52nd anniversary with the installation of two new stained glass windows.
Members of the congregation at St Nicholas Church, Whetstone Road, Kidbrooke, wanted the new windows to replace the old plain leaded ones.
They were designed by Delia Scales from Apollo Stained Glass, in Deptford, to complement the mural of St Nicholas at the front of the church.
The pattern of the three circles represents the three bags of gold which the saint gave to an elderly father as dowries for his daughters.
The 70 churchgoers contributed £2,400 for the new windows, which were dedicated at the 52nd anniversary of the church on Sunday.
Vicar Tim Linkens said: "We are very pleased with the windows. It's made a big difference to the front of the church."
