BEXLEY'S internet radio station is hopeful of obtaining an FM licence after a successful first year.
Since going on air in November last year, TGR Sound, run by the Bexley Community Media Association, has recruited 40 voluntary members and trained more than 1,000 people in radio skills.
It has also worked with a number of stars including Darius and Alexander O'Neal as well as up-and-coming talent and broadcast from various high-profile events in the area.
The station broadcasts numerous programmes ranging from music and sport to the All Day Cafe, which broadcasts topical discussions and interviews.
The station, which has around 3,000 web listeners a month, showcases unsigned bands and musicians and also offers free airtime for schools, colleges and universities to produce their own programmes.
