ENTRY ONTO THE COURSE: The course requires 160 UCAS points - I have a double AVCE award in engineering and a C-grade AS level. I also had an interview with a tutor.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE COURSE: I've always wanted to learn more about design technology and I like the locality of the university.
AREAS THE COURSE COVERS: Many aspects of design technology, namely electronics, graphics, resistant materials and textiles.
THE OTHER STUDENTS: There are 13 of us and only three of us are men.They come from many different backgrounds, some have already had careers and some have come straight from college. We often have to do presentations together so we get on well.
ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is great. Our block is a bit secluded from the rest of the campus but it is still lively.
THE FUTURE: I am also doing a teaching course here so I would like to teach when I leave.
