BEATING the bullies was a theme taken up by schools to mark national Anti-Bullying Week.
Cleeve Park School, Bexley Lane, Sidcup, has introduced a new anti-bullying council, with pupils from each year group offering confidential help and support to fellow pupils.
It held a poster competition and the school published its new anti-bullying policy.
At Welling School, Elsa Road, Welling, new anti-bully boxes have appeared where pupils can post comments or details of incidents anonymously.
Assemblies were also held on the subject.
Girls at Townley Grammar School, Townley Road, Bexleyheath, ran a series of competitions, debates, poetry writing and fundraising events to support the NSPCC.
They also created lapel badges.
Children at Orchard Primary School bought blue anti-bullying wristbands.
Pupils had the chance to tie stars with anti-bullying messages to a tree and a design-a-poster event was also held.
And last Friday the children dressed in blue and then formed an anti-bullying chain around the playground of the school in Oxford Road, Sidcup.
