TWO teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of torching a train carriage and causing £75,000 damage.
The two 17-year-olds are believed to have been smoking cannabis when they allegedly set fire to seats in the rear carriage of the moving train, near West Wickham station.
Two commuters confronted the pair and tried to detain them but the teenagers escaped when the train reached Hayes station.
South Eastern Trains, which operates the service, says the train which had travelled from Charing Cross, on August 12, was full.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of arson on August 20.
They were released on police bail and are due to return to Bromley Police Station in December.
