A SIDCUP school's future as a specialist engineering college was the theme of its awards evening.
Guests from the world of engineering took pride of place at Cleeve Park School, Bexley Lane, Sidcup, for the event.
President of Young Engineers and presenter on BBC's Tomorrow's World, Kate Bellingham, spoke about the importance of engineering in both education and at work.
Another guest was Mike McConnell from Balfour Beatty, the school's sponsorship company.
He discussed the role the company will play in the school's future.
There was also a presentation from Barry McGregor, the national specialism co-ordinator for engineering colleges.
Other guests included Cleeve Park's partner primary schools Royal Park, Riverside Road, Albany Park, and Birkbeck, Alma Road, Sidcup, as well as Bexley councillors.
Cabinet member for education Councillor Trevor Perrin says he was impressed with the many advances the school had made.
He said: "It is fantastic Bexley can offer so many specialist schools covering such a broad range of subjects."
