A 28-YEAR-OLD man accused of murdering and then torching the body of his flatmate is facing a re-trial.
Michael Rogers-Wilson is accused of beating Brett Youngs to death with a baseball bat at the property where they were squatting, in Northbrook Road, Lee.
He then allegedly set fire to the body of the 30-year-old DJ before fleeing the scene, on May 27, 2003.
Mr Rogers-Wilson stood trail on charges of murder and arson at the Old Bailey last month.
However, the jury was discharged after failing to reach a verdict following more than 29 hours of deliberations.
Old Bailey judge Peter Rook QC last week decided Mr Rogers-Wilson, of Oxshott, Surrey, who denies the charges, should stand trial again on April 10 next year.
