MEMBERS of an environmental group dressed as polar bears to campaign against climate change.
Greenwich and Lewisham Friends of the Earth went out on the streets of Catford to tell the public about the dangers posed to the polar ice caps.
They also told residents about a public meeting on the Climate Change Bill, which is being held at the Lewisham Town Hall on December 7, at 8pm.
Deptford MP Joan Ruddock also joined the campaign on Saturday by speaking to residents and giving out leaflets.
Ms Ruddock has already signed an early day motion supporting Friends of the Earth's Climate Change Bill, which is calling for an annual reduction in greenhouse gases.
Ms Ruddock said: "I've previously worked with Friends of the Earth and I am in full support of their campaign on climate change."
