SIGNS have been put up next to speed camera sites to hammer home a safety message to motorists.

Red and white posters have been put up near speed cameras across Kent showing the reduction in casualties at the site since the device was installed.

One of the posters used in the campaign reads "84 per cent reduction in casualties here."

The signs were put up by the Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership as part of its Speed Shatters Life campaign.

The partnership received assistance by head injuries charity Headway to launch the campaign.

Partnership communications manager Rachel Moon said: "Speed Shatters Life aims to remind road users cameras have been installed to prevent deaths and not to make money."
