PUPILS gave their school a new lease of life by planting a hedgerow.
Kings Farm Primary School, Cedar Avenue, Gravesend, has been helped by environmental charity Groundworks in sprucing up its grounds.
The schoolchildren lent a hand to plant 700 whips small finger-width plants which will grow into hedgerow to cover a fence and make the area more appealing.
Members of the Gravesend and Meopham Rotary Club also helped plant the hedgerow.
Pupils have worked with the charity for more than a year on projects such as creating a woodland area and building bird boxes to improve their outdoor environment.
