SIDCUP will become the first town centre in the area to stage a laser light show.
The light show will be part of the town's Christmas spectacular on December 7.
Father Christmas will be in the town centre from 10am until 6pm, thanks to Bexley Rotary Club, together with an army of seasonal street entertainers.
A Flavours of Europe market will be selling gifts and speciality foods from across the continent all day, alongside shops which will stay open until 7pm.
London radio station Heart FM will be in the town for the festivities and at 4pm Bexley mayor Councillor John Shepheard will switch on the Christmas lights.
Town centre partnership chairman Graham Holland will then activate the laser light show, which will project beams into the night sky over Sidcup from the roof of the post office for the evening.
And between 6pm and 7pm the Salvation Army band will entertain shoppers with carols and music.
The event has been organised by a partnership of residents, traders, Bexley Council and L&Q Bexley Homes housing association.
