ROADWORKS: The junction of Thames Road and Crayford Way, Crayford, has closed for three weeks as part of the £12m project to turn Thames Road into a dual carriageway. The traffic lights will be switched off and traffic diverted along Maiden Lane, across Iron Mill Lane and into Mayplace Avenue, with temporary lights at the Mayplace Road/Thames Road, junction.
KEEPING MUM: A community mums scheme in Thamesmead is looking for more volunteers. The scheme is part of Bexley Council's Areas of Opportunity programme and is being run by Bexley Care Trust and North Bexley Surestart. Experienced mums are being recruited to give advice. IT'S BAZAAR: Crayford Royal British Legion's women's section is holding a fundraising Christmas bazaar in the Royal British Legion hall, Iron Mill Lane, Crayford, on December 10 from 11am to 2pm. All proceeds will go to the women's section's benevolent fund.
RAIL STAFF STRIKE: Some ticket offices at railway stations may be forced to close on Monday as members of the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association stage a one-day strike in protest at South Eastern Trains' decision to cut back on ticket office staff.
