A MUM-OF-ONE has been doing her bit to help an old school friend buy medicine to stop her breast cancer returning.
Kelly Povey, of Sayes Court Road, St Paul's Cray, saw her friend Senay Pasifull, 34, on the front cover of News Shopper in September.
Mum-of-two Miss Pasifull won her battle with cancer but needed £40,000 to buy the drug Herceptin, which can reduce the chance of the disease returning.
Mrs Povey, who went to Beaverwood School for Girls, Beaverwood Road, Chislehurst, helped organise a sponsored walk in October.
Recently, the 34-year-old raffled off a football, signed by Charlton Athletic players at Raglan Primary School, Ragland Road, Bromley, where she works as a cook.
Mrs Povey, who has a seven-year-old daughter called Molly, said: "She's an old friend and cancer has touched people in my own family. It's a worthwhile cause."
The two events raised more than £1,000.
