PEOPLE who care about one of Bexley's most historic gardens can now help to keep them beautiful.
Following the huge success of the volunteer scheme at the newly-restored Danson Mansion in Welling, Bexley Heritage Trust wants to set up a similar scheme for Hall Place gardens.
It wants volunteers to help in the grounds and nursery of the Tudor house in Bourne Road, Bexley.
The estate currently has seven gardeners and the volunteers will help them with the maintenance of the gardens, propagation of plants in the nursery and the sale of plants to the public.
A Heritage Lottery Fund grant means the trust will be able to grow its own stock to use in the re-landscaping of the gardens. It is also keen to develop a new garden centre for the Hall Place nursery.
The trust will offer full training and there is no minimum commitment required.
For further information or to volunteer, call Hall Place on 01322 526574.
