THE public is being asked to pull the plug on shops which are still selling fireworks.
Under new fireworks legislation, shops are only allowed to sell fireworks until November 10 after Bonfire Night.
They are not allowed to begin selling them again until December 26 in time for the New Year celebrations.
The only exception is for licensed shops which can sell fireworks all year round.
But there are no licensed shops in Bexley at the moment.
The aim is to restrict fireworks to the days around celebrations such as Bonfire Night, New Year, Chinese New Year and Diwali.
But there is nothing to stop people who already have fireworks, from letting them off on private land between 7am and 11pm.
If you know a shop in Bexley still selling fireworks, call Bexley trading standards on 020 8303 7777.
