In 2006 our council tax will go up 10 per cent at least.
Twenty-five per cent of our council tax is handed to the Greater London Assembly.
Now the GLA has got the audacity to dictate to us that in the not too distant future, we will have to pay 38p per person per week towards the 2012 Olympics for the next ten years.
I am a pensioner aged 73, and it's possible I might not be alive by 2012 to see the Olympics.
I am enraged over this proposed Olympic tax.
The real thorn in the side is the fact that this Olympic tax applies to the 32 London boroughs, even though Olympic venues are being held in other parts of the country.
I urge everyone to write to their MPs, councillors and even the Mayor of London himself in protest.
Olympics would normally be paid from Government funds as it involves the whole of Britain not just London.
Get active and let's get something done about this, before it's too late.
I am happy to report that Bromley Council is also opposed to this Olympic tax.
