YOUNG and old members of the community exercised their vocal chords as they got into the festive spirit a month early.
Pupils from Blackheath High School, Vanbrugh Park, joined residents in belting out Christmas carols and classic Yuletide hits at the school's annual fair on Saturday.
Other attractions included stalls selling cakes, hand-made crafts, clothes and Christmas cards.
There was also plenty to keep youngsters amused, including musical performances and a Punch and Judy show.
Organisers hope the day raised around £2,000 for Riding for the Disabled, a charity which provides horse-riding opportunities for sick children and adults.
Organiser Maureen Aune said: "It was an incredibly lively day and a lot of fun.
"There were some really nice things on sale so hopefully people had the chance to do some Christmas shopping."
