STUDENTS were presented with prizes after winning a poster competition to raise awareness of Road Safety Week.
Year 6 pupils at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Westgate Road, Beckenham, took part in the competition designed to highlight the dangers of speeding traffic.
The competition was organised by the London Safety Camera Partnership and was open to schools right across London as part of Road Safety Week, co-ordinated by road charity Break.
Prizes included DVDs, toys, books and CD-ROMS. Funtan Morrison won first prize, followed by Ciara O'Loughnane and Ollie Ehrhart, who were second and third.
The posters the pupils designed will feature on the Partnership's calendar for next year.
Headteacher Isobel Vassallo said: "Pupils have learnt a great deal about the use of safety cameras and the competition has also reinforced the message that speed can kill."
