THE bid to turn a listed building into a community arts venue is continuing.
The Studio, Beckenham Road, Beckenham, was due to be revamped by music company Proper Music, after Bromley Council accepted its proposals in June.
But chairman Malcolm Mills withdrew the bid a few weeks ago because of personal reasons.
The council must now decide if they invite new candidates or discuss it only with the other two nominated in June.
These are the Herbert Justice Academy of Theatre Arts and the Association for Cultural Advancement through Visual Art.
News Shopper understands they may have to submit amended proposals because the originals are unsuitable.
Penge and Cator councillor John Getgood said: "With some ambition and drive, we could get something really special for the north west of the borough. We don't want second best."
The council is expected to discuss plans for The Studio in the new year.
