IT WAS a day of tradition and celebration as Bexley's Sikhs marked the birthday of their religion's founder.
Guru Nanak was born in 1469 and every year Sikhs around the world celebrate his birthday with food, religious ceremonies and processions.
The Sikh Temple in Mitchell Close, Belvedere, was full to bursting and served traditional food all weekend as part of the celebrations.
On Sunday, traditional Sikh swordsmen led a procession, which included drummers and the Sikh flag and temple members, around the streets of Belvedere.
