CHRISTMAS FAIR: Festive shoppers can get their hands on crafts, plants and seasonal food at a Christmas fair. The event takes place this Saturday, from noon to 4pm, at Sydenham Green Health Centre, Holmshaw Close, Sydenham. All proceeds will go to Sydenham Garden, a charity which provides gardening opportunities for seriously-ill people.

BLAZE DEATH: A man died in a house fire which took firefighters more than two hours to put out. The blaze, on Sunday night, completely destroyed a three-storey house in New Cross Road, New Cross. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
