THE festive season gets off to a rocking start when the band Columbus help launch Eltham's Christmas lights switch-on with a live gig in the High Street tomorrow.
Columbus were founded by Eltham musician Mike Staples.
Earlier this year News Shopper spoke to former Detours frontman as he was putting together his new band.
Now things are on the move for Columbus with the recent release of a new single and a gig at Sound in Leicester Square on November 30.
The single, entitled Look At It Later, has a sparkling catchy melody and clear clean vocals with echoes of late-period Beatles and the La's.
