CLASSIC American comedy is coming to Bexleyheath. The Edward Alderton Theatre is staging one of Neil Simon's lesser-known plays, the Gingerbread Lady. Simon is one of America's most prolific and successful playwrights, with 30 of his plays being staged on Broadway. He is the only writer to have had four Broadway productions running concurrently.
His scripts include enduring favourites such as The Odd Couple and Brighton Beach Memoirs.
The Gingerbread Lady centres on Evy Meara (Wendy Marsh), a popular singer turned alcoholic, who has just completed a 10-week drying out period.
