A 60-YEAR-OLD woman has stepped into the gym for the first time to support her husband after his major heart operation.
Pasquale Amato, 62, was prescribed rehabilitation exercise following a quadruple heart bypass.
His wife Catherine offered to support her husband's new exercise regime by going to the gym herself.
Mrs Amato said: "It has made an enormous contribution to his recovery and has put me on the path to a healthier lifestyle.
"I just want to share with people the fact they are never too old to enjoy the benefits of getting and keeping fit."
The couple attend White Oak Leisure Centre, Hilda May Avenue, Swanley.
Mrs Amato, of Wansunt Road, Bexley, was awarded a £300 holiday voucher after entering a prize draw rewarding regular attendance at centres run by Sencio Community Leisure, which runs the White Oak Leisure Centre.
