Elaine Stones writes: "New bus routes planned - TFL are proposing to re-route two buses in East Greenwich, the 108 and the 422 ... "
In fact, these proposals were sent to some local residents and residents' groups as well as to the council for comment and there was an unusually large amount of feedback on them.
The council also suggested some significant changes to the original proposals, but also roundly condemned London Buses for the poor consultation.
London Buses have gone away, very much with their tail between their legs, but more significantly so since they totally failed to be aware of the re-development of either the Annandale School site or the huge scheme forthcoming for the Greenwich District Hospital site otherwise known as a 'A New Heart for East Greenwich'.
Having said that, my own view, and that of the Westcombe Society, is that it is vital that other local residents who are on the routes of buses currently serving Blackheath, the Standard and Westcombe Hill deserve a decent direct service to Sainsburys, Filmworks etc.
