COUNCIL tenants are preparing to vote on whether their homes will be sold to a housing association.
Gravesham Council stands to make £27m if it sells 6,469 properties but the final decision lies with the tenants.
In preparation for the vote in March, the Coldharbour Residents' Association is holding a December meeting where an independent tenants' advisor will be available to answer questions about the transfer.
Ron Hills, chairman of the residents' association, said: "Most of the people concerned are quite happy with the service they get from Gravesham Council and feel it's a case of rather the devil they know than the devil they don't."
More than 50 per cent of tenants must vote yes for the sale to go ahead.
