A SCHOOL has been handed a cash boost as a reward for bringing learning into the 21st Century.
Thomas Tallis School, Kidbrooke Park Road, Blackheath, encourages its pupils to revise and study online in their spare time.
All pupils use SAM learning, a computerised system which allows them to sit mock exams or do revision tasks outside the classroom.
Now the school has been awarded £5,000 by SAM, as recognition for using innovative learning practices.
Deputy headteacher Mark van der Spiegel said: "Students enjoy using the system because it means they can get immediate feedback on what they have achieved."
He added the school plans to spend the money on extra computers.
SAM learning is a private company used by Greenwich Council to provide online revision and learning materials to the borough's secondary schools.
