RESIDENTS and young people combined their efforts to improve life in Thamesmead for this year's Make A Difference Day.
Their first task was to create a memorial garden in the grounds of Teeswater Court Atrium, Maran Way, for Abbey Wood Royal British Legion.
The volunteers, helped by Greenwich volunteer police cadets and supported by Gallions Housing Association and Tilfen Land, installed benches, planted flowerbeds and laid a memorial stone.
The young people then moved onto Meopham for a four-day stay at HopeHill Scout Camp to work on environmental improvements to the site.
They were joined for a day by members of the Eynsham youth team based in Abbey Wood.
