ACCORDING to research by What House? Online, house hunters in the south east consistently do more research on a potential new home and its area than other home buyers in the country.
As a result, homeowners in the area are much more content with their choice of home.
The survey has found 71 per cent of people in the south east are happy with their home purchases, compared to only 46 per cent of Londoners.
It therefore comes as no surprise people living in the south east are also least likely to move out of their chosen area.
What House? Online conducted the survey to develop a new intelligent property search, which allows home buyers to view local amenities such as schools, transport links and supermarkets, according to their distance from over 120,000 properties for sale.
It also ties together house price data from the land registry with the property database, allowing users to compare asking prices to actual prices paid in an area.
As its survey showed 57 per cent of homebuyers blame lack of time to carry out research when house hunting, What House? Online believes the availability of comprehensive information from one source could have a dramatic impact on how people go about searching for their next home.
