YOUNG churchgoers learned teenagers in India face similar problems to their own when they visited the country.
Three youth leaders and nine young people aged 14 to 18 went to Herbertpur Christian Hospital, near Dehradun, in the Doon Valley, at the foothills of Himalayas.
The team from the Baptist Church, Worlds End Lane, Green Street Green, learned about Indian culture and found out teenagers growing up there faced similar problems with drugs, alcohol and peer pressure.
They also made flower beds, catalogued the medical library and led church services.
Church group leader Penny Stradling, 25, said: "I wanted to let young people see what the world is like and to see how they could help the world."
