MEDICAL SKILL: Professor Sube Banerjee and his psychiatric team from South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, made it to the final of the Hospital Doctor Awards.

They were nominated in the psychiatry team of the year category. The awards, which celebrate clinical excellence and innovation, took place in the Hilton hotel, Park Lane, London, on November 10.

MOVING ON: A dispersal order which moves groups of people away from an area if they are causing a nuisance, was rolled out in Penge on Monday. The order will last for at least six months and aims to reduce anti-social behaviour. It includes Kent House Road, Lennard Road and Parish Lane, Whateley Road and Thesiger Road.

ACTION MEETING: St Mary Action Group has a meeting on November 22, in the Vernon Hall, High Street, St Mary Cray. Jim Howitt will give a talk on A Hundred Years of Cray, from 1850 to 1950. The event at 8pm is open to everyone. Light refreshments are provided and contributions are invited towards the cost.

GROUP FUNDS: The Bromley Community Events Group street collection raised £370 towards the upkeep of the Miss Bromley Pageant activity following a weekend of festivities. The events on November 5 and November 6, included an illuminated carnival parade with 200 people.
