The committee has raised 500,000 over the past 42 years
CANCER fundraisers are celebrating after raising £500,000.
The West Wickham Cancer Research UK committee has reached the milestone after 42 years of events and activities in the area.
These include house-to-house collections, street collections, fairs and jumble sales.
Treasurer Christine O'Brien said: "It is incredible to think the committee has contributed such a huge amount of money towards cancer research.
"This fantastic achievement would not have been possible without the ongoing hard work of committee members and the support of residents."
The committee is always looking for new volunteers to help with its work.
